Flexible Mineral Insulated Fire-proof Cable

The inorganic compounds used in cable materials are allinorganic compounds,so this kind of cable has non-flammable,smokeless,non-toxic and fire-resistant characteristics. When a fire occurs, the ceramized silicone rubber becomes a hard ceramic shell, which plays a role of fire prevention and heat insulation.

Development History of Fire-proof Cable

1895In 1895,Swiss engineers put forward the idea of rigid mineral insulated fire-proof cables and obtained patents in 1896.
1934in 1934,France took the lead in transforming new technologies into production. After that, developed industrial countries such as Britain,
Australia and Canada began production one after another.
1968In 1968,the Shanghai Cable Research Institute of China began to develop, but mainly used in the military field. Then industrial production
(magnesium oxide fire-proof cables)began in the mid-1980S.
1984In 1984,Swiss Stewart Cable Company first introduced flexible fire-proof insulated cables.

Fire proof cable characteristics
Because most of the insulation of wires and cables is made of organic polymer materials,it is easy to carbonize and lose its insulation function under the condition of flame. The insulation of flexible mineral insulated fire-proof cables is made of synthetic mineral materials, which are filled with magnesium oxide or ceramic silicone rubber. And its outer protective layer is made of threaded multi-nonmagnetic stainless steel material, which keeps the original flexibilityand flexibility of the cable, increases the level of fire prevention, ensures the construction of anti-scratch,use of anti-rat bite at the same time, but also helps to use the cable heat dissipation.
These materials generally have a high melting point above 1400℃,so even at 1050℃,fire-proof cables can normally play the role of power transmission, and through BS6387C W Z est,--they can withstand 950℃,3 hours of combustion under 1000V load conditions, and have the function of spray resistance and mechanical impact resistance, which is a true sense of fire-proof cables.
